I did this last time I sold a body, but I can't figure out how I did it for free. My favorite is the 'free shutter count' at that is free to download but once you install their (probably spyware) app AND special drivers, you have to pay to get your shutter count. For Windows, nothing free works, and I'm afraid to pay and find out it still doesn't work. Nothing for Android except the paid DSLR Controller.
I've spent an hour looking for a Windows or Android solution. 400plus (free and open source) For 400D 400plus is available and works like Magic Lantern. In case it helps: Software already on my Windows 10 PC: Lightroom CC and FastStone image viewer. Software like EOSInfo ( mirror site) for Windows and 40D Shutter Count ( mirror site) for MacOSX are able to get the shutter count for 1000D, 40D, 50D, 450D, 500D, 700D och 5D II. Is there a way to check the shutter count without downloading some dodgy looking software? I know this will have been asked before but I haven't got all day to search. I tried using the search bar on this site, no luck. I tried again for this site and some German software came up.
I Googled it- everything was from 5+ years ago.
